K. Jackson

This is Keelan. Beautiful right?

He was so precious and such a good sport. These are only a few of the 250 total, overall images I took.
Of course that many are not usable like the ones with spit/throw-up/crying/back of head etc. Those lovely images never get seen by anyone but me of course! But I think they turned out great. We did studio shots and some outside my office.

These are several of my favorite images!

Bridesmaid Inviations

How great are these?
I wanted to send my "maids" an invitation to be in the wedding and a list of the other maids and their information. I found the idea in a Martha Stewart Wedding issue where they sent cards to the bridesmaids with the dress information on them. But since we had already found their dresses, this became my version of that idea.

As you know the theme of the wedding is Garden/Southern so of course I wanted to use something whimsical and fresh, but also still in line with the overall feel of the wedding itself. And since there will be other uses for birds, one being part of my cake I felt like this was the perfect image to use.
I loved the bird. I am so proud of them, and with a little help from my sister...my photo shop version became this!
My girls loved them too.

What a guy!

Sorry for the silence. The week got super busy, super fast. I had a photo session Friday afternoon which was fabulous. And the pictures and gorgeous, I'll post a preview soon!!

Cory and I went to pick up our couch(during the Auburn/Georgia game..wow), which I bought last weekend and we bought a truck on Wednesday so we actually had something to pick it up in. Well we didn't buy the truck just for that of course, but trust me that truck will definitely come in handy for picking up treasures. Cory is thrilled...(hear the sarcasm)!

Oh and we are very close to being able to really begin to work on the house. Which I am dieing to decorate. The cardboard boxes that are presently holding my most precious belongings are not so pretty and take up lots...lots of space in my childhood room at my parents house where I also am currently sleeping/eating/living! But we are now approaching the "7 months before the wedding" mark, there is still much to be done.

Happy Saturday!

A little something...

This is Ms. Madeline Kelley. She was the star of my most recent photography session. We took all the these shots at my parents house in Vincent. It was too much fun!

Enjoy.

P.S If you are interested in your own photography session email me at klhphotography@gmail.com.

Wedding Shoes

I think I've found them!
My WEDDING SHOES! I have been looking and ordering, sending back, and ordering again! (my mail room at work is tired of
Zappos boxes, I can assure you) But I think I have them.

We are having a garden wedding at my parents house so I wanted something simple, flat, vintage, me.

Possibly these could be them...but the jury is still out! Let me know what you think. And I do realize that without seeing my dress voting on shoes will be difficult, so just do your best!
P.S. sorry for rhyming...its presence is not intentional! =)

Starting Fresh

This is our new house!!

I haven't taken any photographs of the inside yet...its still very much a work in progress.

I already have the whole house decorated and laid out in my head. I have great and high expectations for our humble abode.

Much to Cory's dismay, I'm sure!

Enjoy.

Seat belts...

...wear them, otherwise you will probably get a ticket. Like I did. Happy Monday to me!!

Marbles, Marbles, Marbles

We are slowly beginning to work on the new house. But I have started working on things to put "in" the house more and more the past week or so. The house is ...well old. But a more, chocked full of character old not falling apart, disaster old! And I of course have a more bohemian/chic/eclectic style...whatever that is.
My mind is full of ideas and I have acquired so many fun things over the years of junk store adventures with my mom that I have plenty to keep me busy while Cory is out of town this week.

When I was younger I (for some unknown reason) started collecting marbles ! again, why I have no idea. And honestly I do have some quite interesting ones (as interesting as marbles can possibly be)!! But somehow I acquired an abundance of regular old colorful, glass, basic marbles. About a billion of them...and I'm not kidding. I have tons and tons of them. and I decided to use the container that they were in for another ...up coming idea for the kitchen...so the question became, what to do with the billions of marbles presently occupying this container?

And so here you have it, my last effort to create something from nothing.

And now my question changes to...where will it go? Kitchen, maybe? We shall see!

Happy Monday.

Love Letters

I had a beautiful day. Sundays are amazing. One because its a day of worship and two because its a day I always get to spend the whole afternoon with Cory. This is when I memorize the things he says and the way I feel and write them in my soul...like love letters to have later.

Our story is a simple one. One where a precious boy fell for a broken hearted girl and swept her off her feet. From the first date they knew. Not letting the other know for months and months. He was her saving grace. The one who sacrificed. The one who adored. The one who was willing to go the extra mile. The one who decided to stay. The one who wanted to stay. But most of all the one who loved without consequence. And the one who wanted forever. And so on the their fifth month together, he asked her to be his forever. And she said yes.

April 11th will begin our forever. And no worries I'll keep you updated on all our wedding day progress!

This weeks project...ordering the invitations and dress searching.

Oh and sorry for the sappiness! Him working out of town for first time and for a week just made me a little love-y today! Happy Sunday.

One persons trash..!

Today...was a junk day! an all day junk day! But not everyone sees junk the same way..right? Ok well my sister and mom and I all found treasures. Personally, mine were the best!! These were the main buys of the day. The sofa...brand new. an awesome price too, trust me! And the amber glasses my fav. $1 a piece. The thirft store is full of un-noticed treasures!! So this is my advice for the day...take a second look at the trash next time, you might just find some pretty amazing finds.

Streams

Ok, so I have a life verse to share, well its really more like a "last 4 months" verse but none the less. Its Isaiah 43:19. and this is what it says, oh and this is God talking by the way... "I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland". This has been such an encouraging word for me lately. And the part I love so much is that it says "I AM" not I will or I have but I AM. Meaning now, today, in the present. God is in total and complete control. We may not know what our next step will be but he has already made the path smooth..ok well maybe not smooth we are never promised smooth and easy (if life were smooth and easy we wouldn't need him!!) , he is simply making the way one step ahead of our next. Keep praying, keep breathing, and especially keep stepping. In retrospect I wish I had heard this years ago, which I'm sure somewhere along the way I have but sometimes we need a reminder. So I hope someone needs this today. If its you...be encouraged. If it isn't...tell someone else, it might be for them!

Enjoy these images as well. They were taken for my mom who is obsessed with planting and flowers and all things that grow! I hope you will love them as much as she did.

Newly Acquired Taste

I think we should always try new things. Especially when you can see others around you are truly enjoying them. So here I am blogging! My sister is obsessed with this. She can't stop talking about how much she enjoys the community and the stories. I started reading her blogs this week and realized just how fun it could really be (don't tell her I said so).
This will be, I am certain, the first of many posts. I suppose I'll give some history now! I am a photographer. Literally and at at heart! I believe that I see the world differently, as if I were looking through my camera. Which most of the time I am. I am engaged and pumped about a wedding. Isn't every girl. Even the ones who are already married. I have a friend who I think is re-living the planning of her wedding through me. We will be married on April the 11th next year. and it's been a crazy ride even from the start. When I finally found and decided on a photographer she was booked...so we changed the date of the wedding to accommodate her which just happens to be easter weekend. And if one more person asks if we will be using easter eggs in the decor I might scream! My invitations are not being produced anymore so I have a deadline to order them, and no matter how my times I ask Cory how many are on his list, his response is "i can only do one thing at a time" referring to either the online poker game he is presently addicted to or the Alabama job search page. This is my life!
Also we are working on our house. It needs a little love and so we are loving it to death. and will be for some time. We are HGTV fans. Cory calls me with remedies he has found through watching all the time. We are 30 in 23 year olds bodies!
My job is crazy. A photographers life is never slow. If I'm not shooting at work, I'm shooting at home. But its life and I love it.
I hope you will laugh with me as I partake on this roller coaster of a life that is mine.
