Riley and Brannon

My blogging has drastically depleted over the last several weeks and I am willing to bet it will only get worse (the closer to the wedding we get)!!

But just for your entertainment alone I will try and post periodically even if its just photo sessions...and honestly thats what everyone wants to see anyways...pictures!! Right! Thats what I always look at. I am embarrassed to say that usually if the post doesn't include a few snap shots I don't read it! =( I could be banded from Blogger if they found out so keep that to yourself will you?!

Never-the-less I am too busy to stop and type for long...not to mention I don't have any really interesting stories to share and I would hate to bore those of you who stopped in to see the photographs I post with a goofy story!

So without further ado...a few photographs from this weekends photo-session! Meet Riley and Brannon. Enjoy.

This is totally my favorite!

Adrienne and Jason

Why is December the busiest month of the year? I think it should be the one we most enjoy. And I am enjoying it busy or not.

However the busy-ness is the reason for a two week silence in my blogging. Sorry for that but you know how it is!

I have lots to catch you up on, like me near death/abduction experience in Atlanta/or the house renovation dialogues/ or even the sneak peak of our Christmas cards, but today is not the day.

Today I will only post images from a photo shoot of my cousin and her finance. These are their engagement pictures, well the ones I have edited anyways. They will be married the month after Cory and I and I am their wedding photographer. Enjoy their sweet images, and leave me comments!

Weekend Typing...

My weekend typing and updating needs to improve much I realize but until that day comes I will be having this Monday weekend update for you instead!
As always our weekend was packed full of things to do and places to go but we managed to get them all in and done, how I couldn't tell you!

Friday night was our Sunday School Christmas Party at my sister house, which if you read my blog you probably read hers first meaning that you already know this but none-the-less! We had some interesting occurrences during and before our party! I had made a hash brown casserole for Thanksgiving but had too much for my pan so I put half up in the freezer to safe for this very party...to save me time you know!! I can home on Thursday night to find my lovely casserole being cooked for dinner by my mother, whom I had forgotten to tell I was saving it. So I had to re-think my veggie option for our little get to together. I ended up making roasted red potatoes. They were divine!
While my potatoes where cooking I was helping Kristin make the rest of her things. A Derby pie! and the dressing! She was, by memory, telling me the amounts of the ingredients to the pie while she finished the dressing and put it in the over. She got out the eggs and chocolate chips, the nuts, and the flour (all for the pie of course) and upon opening the egg carton realized that there were more eggs there than were suppose to be there! Why? the dressing calls for three eggs and Kris forgot to add them in!! She kept making us try it to see if it still tasted ok...not the best but no one even noticed!! Of course now that we have posted about it they will all know! But then while she was obsessing about the dressing she told me to put three eggs in the pie...instead of one as the recipe calls for. Needless to say the pie was a little too runny! We laughed and laughed. What a catastrophe. The party went well and was so much fun despite the egg issues!

Saturday was a good day too Cory has Bball practice, he and Josh are always playing something this is season for Basketball! So I worked at the house, trying to finish up the Kitchen but just as I was about to start the last portion of the trim Cory got there and wanted to go eat lunch! Big surprise right, we ate at the Grill in Childersburg as always its one of our most favorite places close to eat. We ate lunch and then parted ways again. I had a photo session at my parents house and he was off to watch the big game...

the SEC Championship so of course all the men were to not be disturbed between the hours of 2:30 and at least 7!

Mom and I went to see Kassidy, my cousin, leave for a Prom-type event at the High School. And she looked so beautiful. My aunt Heather's camera was broken (or so she said !! ) so I took mine and took a few shots for them to have. These are my favorites.

After the game we all, mom dad kristin josh cory and I, all meet up for dinner and movie! I love Cory not working on Friday and Saturday nights...we can finally have date nights again! We all saw "four christmases" and it was hysterical! We laughed the whole time.

The weekend was great...busy as always but still a weekend. No complaints here!

Who wants a project??

Today I have a project for you. Maybe or maybe not one you will use but I liked the idea.

Do you know what these are?

They are counter samples. My dad had them lying around from some old jobs so I asked if I could have them!
He of course didn't mind, they are out of stock now and using a new set. So I got the old ones!

And made Christmas present gift tags out of them!!
Pretty cute right? Maybe a little funky.

I painted the backs to cover up all the ordering information that comes on them, tied a piece of ribbon, and used a metallic paint pen to personalize them!

Here is what you need to make one yourself....

...samples, which you can probably get from any local hardware or woodworking shop (they usually just throw them away at the end of the year), any color acrylic paint and brushes, ribbon, and a paint pen!

... now you're completely ready for gift tag making!!

Engagement Photos...just in!

Sarah just brought me a semi-finished disc of mine and Cory's Engagement session from several weeks ago. They are so good. I am so excited to share a few with you! Let me know how you like them.

Ok just a few more!!
This one is my absolute favorite!

Monday, December 1, 2008

Hello, hello. Long time no write!! Yes I know, I am terrible at writing over the weekends...especially when they include a Holiday!!

How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was great. We did nothing. Well maybe not nothing. Of course we worked at the house some...I am almost finished with the living room and then I can start decorating it. That will be the best part, for me anyways...Cory is just ready to live there! As am I ...but I get to wait a little longer than he does!
The kitchen is also almost finished and ready to lavish with "things", things that are at this moment taking up residence in my bedroom floor at my parents house!
We spent the day Thursday with our families! They overlapped for about an hour, but we managed to make appearances at both!!
Friday..oh heavens. We went shopping! Totally Cory's idea. We bought each other a flat screen for Christmas...that is one for our living room not one for each of us. And we had the bright idea to try and take part in those Black Friday sales! We did. Got our Television at quite a reduced price. After, however waking up at 4am, standing in line at Wal-mart with 4oo-10000 crazy mothers and women with their game faces on and ready to fight for those pink Barbie jeeps!! Never again. never. They blew one of those bull horns at 5 oclock to open the doors, I was totally embarrassed to be there and now with the sound of the bull horn ringing in my ears I felt as if we were preparing to run with bulls in Mexico!! Or rather I sort of felt like cattle being herded into the slaughtering house. Let me tell you it was an experience.
But it was worth it. Cory got his television and played with it the rest of the day!

I got a vacuum cleaner...lime green...for only $28! My mom keeps telling to stop buying things that people will buy for all the up coming wedding showers, but for that price I just could resist.
Pretty fancy cleaner..uhh? I thought so anyways!!!

Thanksgiving.

So I realize that not only will this be my second post in one day and then the only other post in like a week and a half but Thanksgiving isn't for another three days. I couldn't wait, and probably won't have time after this moment to be at a computer again until after Thanksgiving. I love the fall. The weather, the Holidays, and colors, the smells, everything.

I took these few images at my parents several weeks ago when the trees were still gorgeous.

I love the house where I grew up, which is why we are getting married there! Can you see why?

The three trees in front of the house look like this every fall. Its beautiful.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Remember the things that make you happy and even the ones that once made you sad. If it weren't for those things where you are would be different.
Love your family and tell them you do.
Pray to the Father who blessed you with one more day here.
Cherish each step you take and never forget the ones you took to get you to today.

Be thankful for your life and everything in it.

Prayers...

My heart is heavy today and today's post is devoted to cultivating your prayers.

This is a sweet couple that attend my church. I took their engagement pictures several months ago the day before their wedding. Several weeks after Dallas was called to duty by our United States Military to Germany. Tomorrow he will be deployed to Iraq. Rebecca, his bride, remains here in Alabama.
No matter your opinion of war, of why we are still fighting overseas, or of our current President, please remember our American brothers and sisters who are there fighting for you. Fighting and sacrificing so we can be safe and free. I want peace too, who doesn't? But as long as we are sending men and women to fight we should support them with our prayers and thoughts. So please join me this week, today, and especially tomorrow and remember them. Remember their families who are longing and waiting for them here. Remember Dallas and Rebecca.
Prayer is powerful. Its real and God is a good God. Talk to him, praise him, thank him, and call on him. He hears you. And Rebecca and Dallas, and many other families will feel your prayers.

It has been a week, I know. I am seriously in need of a vacation. Very soon, I might add. And to that, Thanksgiving is next week!! are you serious...where has this year gone? I have been all over the place this week, Chelsea, Mt. Laurel, Huntsville, Downtown....its been a crazy week. I haven't been in my office yet. Until the present moment that is. I am behind on everything. Late ordering Christmas cards, getting people their Baker Farms images, everything I tell you. I hope the Holidays will slow my life down!! HA. Yeah right. After they come, then its time to get down right busy and serious about this wedding thing! Showers!! Yay. And the house. Oh don't even ask about the house. I should take pictures and let you come to that conclusion on your own, but I'll spare you just yet. The real reason for this post is to show off one of our Engagement Photos!! My sweet friend Sarah from work hiked up to the Blue-hole and took them for us. This is the place where Cory proposed! They are fabulous. She emailed me this one to use for our Christmas Cards so I thought I would let you have a look. Thanks Sarah.
(To know more about Sarah go
here! Its a new blog so keep checking!! )

Let me know what you think!!

Today is also my sister's birthday, wish her a Happy Birthday and visit her over at The Family Fields! Happy Birthday Kristin!!

and the finale...

Finally I am finished with the Baker Farms Pumpkin Patch Sessions!!!
YAY.
Sorry to my sister who had to wait until last to have her images cleaned and edited. But they are done.(I am burning your disc Kristin, as we speak!) Here are my favorites from Ella's session which we did on Sunday of the Baker Farms weekend. She was so excited to be there and play. She jumped in the cotton with Cory and went on a hay ride. We had so much fun following her around all afternoon. I think these images are some of my favorite I have ever taken of her, even though in most of them she isn't looking at me. She is so stubborn and knows what I am doing with my camera, and she would rather get a spankin' than look at me and she just about did!

I hope you all love your photographs and enjoy them for a long, long time...but not too long Christmas is coming up!

Call me when you are ready for more!!

Enjoy.

A long day. That was yesterday! After a trip to the hospital and a little TLC I think he will live! Yeah so yesterday started out just fine. As always I drove to work and started my day. Cory hasn't been feeling well the last several days so he called in sick, well actually I called in sick for him but same difference. I won't go into details (due to request from the "soon to be") but we thought it could be several things, but then he started Monday feeling like it was the flu so we treated it as that and he stayed in bed the rest of the night and morning. I talked to him in the morning yesterday and he was still feeling very sick and weak, and in much pain (again no details)! I hadn't heard from him in a few hours so I called, no answer. I called again, no answer. About an hour later he calls from a car! I ask what he is doing up and Cory informs me that he has been to hospital!! The hospital!!! Why I ask...trying not to panic. He passed out cold from the pain when he tried to walk to kitchen for something and was taken to the hospital! Are you kidding me! No. Was I called...No. I could have killed him. So now I'm in a complete panic trying to figure out what happened, and if he is really ok, how soon can I finish at the office and make it home? Who knows who took him to hospital. Not his mother, and not me...which in itself concerns me!! And on top of that he says they had to operate! WHAT? Yes, so he was at the hospital being operated on (outpatient) but sill, and no one had my number to call.
OMG. I could have died, and I wanted to take him with me. Apparently there was a cyst or something and it was causing much, much pain which cause the flu-like symptoms which made him pass out.

So after rushing home to make sure all was ok, he was fine in the bed asleep and drugged up!! And not feeling much of anything!!
So needless to say, my day was a bit too eventful for me but all is well and I think he will survive!

Heavens, I need a vacation!

Hello all. This was a great weekend. Friday...I did nothing. Shopped for a bit, met Cory and relaxed, fed him dinner and sent him off to work, and I was in the bed by 9:15. Boring? Not in the least, I'll have you know that those nights I can go to bed at 9 are of God. Saturday morning I slept until I woke up, which was like 8:30 (I'm officially getting old) but then I spent the day doing nothing, absolutely nothing and it was great. We watched the game, Cory left for work, I had to continue watching the game in order to preform a recap for my working "soon to be", ate homemade chili with the folks and went to bed early again. What a weekend!! Sunday afternoon we met my sweet friend Sarah to take engagement photographs of Cory and myself. They are going to be so cute. We hiked to the place where Cory proposed! Too sweet. I can't wait to get them back. Ok so enough with the recap.

This morning was a good start to hopefully a great week. Sometimes on my way out in the mornings Ella is at the window at Heidi's, usually waiting for Gran not so much me, but recently she has busy playing with her Friends and not the least bit interested in waving at me from the window. This morning as I pulled through I slowed down as always just to see if she was there. At first she wasn't and started to pull off and then she appeared half naked, with bunny in hand, and sleepy hair going everywhere waving so hard I laughed. She just stood there waving, waving, waving. I of course waved back and she continued to wave! Blowing me kisses in between and smiling so big. She made my day, week even. Precious. I wish I had been early so I could stop and go in, but of course I was running late as always and didn't have the time to stop. But that sweet smiling face was the best way to start my day. I love you Ella.
